Homework

The Governor Wentworth homework policy requires fifth grade students to complete 50 minutes of homework each night.  20 minutes of this time will be spent reading.  This is the most valuable activity your child can do.  A weekly homework schedule consisting of reading, spelling, vocabulary and mathematics will be sent home next week.  Reading spelling, vocabulary and math facts will be completed on a daily basis.  Mathematics homework with be assigned on Mondays and Wednesdays.  Other homework may be assigned as needed.  Homework time provides practice for your child allowing them to gain confidence and skill knowledge.  You will be amazed at how much your child will learn and grow over the course of the year.
